We’ve had a wicked winter where I live in Wisconsin and I’m just so relieved that spring is finally here, although later than usual. Along with the increasing temperatures will be (I suspect) a decrease in *play* time online……guess I’ll just have to practice better time management to get all my work done!
Just some visuals for you of what I’ve had to put up with lately……..and a sign of hope…..lilac pics have been requested, but still a month to go for those. I’m just dying to see and smell them, they’re the TRUE sign of spring up on my hill.

April 15, 2008 - A sign of hope
If you start wondering where I am and why tweetage has dropped off significantly in the coming months, just remember that 2 toddlers are much more easily entertained OUTSIDE………….

Yeah Spring! Enjoy that beautiful weather and make sure you don’t take any wireless laptops out with you. . .
Hmmm, I wonder if there any wireless connection available at soccer practice. . .
Kate,
I also await the lilacs.

Kate, Congratulations on getting your new blog up and running. It’s looking good.
Glad your weather, like central NYs, is finally improving. For me the true sign of spring is when all the daffodils are in bloom. I love the lilacs too but the leaf buds just came out this week so I’m too impatient for them to bloom to call it spring!
Enjoy being outside with your little ones. It may not seem like it now but the time really does go by fast and before you know it they’ll be in high school and college!
I know I’ll be online less often as the spring weather continues. My daughter’s lacrosse games and gardening will be filling my late sunny afternoons and I’m sure we won’t be the only ones spending less time at our computers. I think it’s important to keep a balance between family, work and play. I’ve been spending too much time on work all winter, now it’s time to even that balance and spend more time on the other two.
May your weather continue to improve and the may the lilacs be releasing their wonderful fragrance soon.
What a contrast to our climate! Haven’t seen snow since my childhood days in England. Here in Queensland we think its cold if it is around 18 degrees!

@Amie - no laptops allowed around my children, which equals no laptops outside :-) It’s so tempting to be connected ALL the time, isn’t it?
@Diane - I’ll send lilacs your way in a month or so and thanks for adding some literature to my humble post!
@Nedra - I completely agree about spending too much time on work - playing outside with my kiddos is the best excuse in the world for being offline! I saw a few flowers trying to peek up recently and truly felt that spring is on it’s way!
@Marie - well, if you miss snow that much, I’d be more than happy to send ours your way every winter!
Mmm… I love lilacs. My personal sign of Spring is a lilac bush on the other side of the block that I pass when I walk. I start watching in March to see if there’s any sign of life. LOL! Always seems to be the first thing to bud around here.
