I know this is a sign of my infatuation with the shiny toy called Twitter, but I miss it working all of the time and all of the connections it brings to my otherwise small world. So, here’s my show of support for my favorite (well, tied with Gmail and Firefox) free thing:
Twitter, I won’t bash you, I won’t leave you in your time of growth…..I just hope everyone else sticks around with me……

hopefully the twitter folks have the capital to scale up. They’re in SF, so they’ve got good bandwidth and resources, IF they can afford them.
YatPundits last blog post..TweetUp This Week?
It’s funny how quickly we get comfortable with an application and worry about its survival. I, too, love Twitter, and when there is a convergence of forces at work, I wonder if the resources are there (and will we begin to see advertisements to pay for it?)
Kevin
@YatPundit - I’m sure my heavy use was one of their problems, maybe I should offer to contribute :-) The hatred being spewed all over about the gall of twitter to go down is just amazing, people are feeling WAY too entitled with all of the free applications! Of course, the downside for twitter is that a working application with no users could be the end result here if things take too long….
@Kevin - the question of advertisements is so interesting - I’ve been thinking about it, and I think that if they were on my twitter page, I’d be fine with it. Embedded in the stream? Hmmm, only if VERY few.
I won’t leave you either, Twitter!!
Couldn’t they get funding from somewhere? They’re successful enough that it seems like they could cash in on that.
Hi Kate:
As I read your post, I just wonder why you would say Twitter, I Miss You instead of Network, I Miss You?
If it is all about the network, what does it matter what tool is used to connect? If your network decides not to stick around, you would stay with Twitter?
I really want to get it but I guess I’m missing something.
@Rachael - hmmm, maybe us savvy businesswomen could find adequate funding, say a few billion? I’m glad you’ll stick around with me :-)
Ryan - That’s an interesting point. Here’s the short answer, since the long one is REALLY long and would probably be best suited for a sit-down discussion in a bar with all of my favorite thinkers……….anyway, here’s why “twitter” instead of “network”. I focused on the tool here because twitter is what created my network and continues to expand it. Simple as that. Of course I wouldn’t use twitter if no one else did, but there simply isn’t another way to connect with the educators, business and social media gurus, bloggers, writers, moms, fake-Jesus’, retired policemen, entrepreneurs, politicians, and all of the rest of my (and yes, this is MY interpretation of the tool and my network)wonderful, wacky network ALL IN ONE PLACE. That’s the main point - ALL IN ONE PLACE. Simple as that. Of course I’d miss my network if they were all to disappear! But honestly, right now I’ve been expanding beyond twitter to connect with most people anyway, so it kind of IS twitter that I miss - the convenience and quirkiness. I hope this helps clear it up :-)
