I came across my new favorite blog today (yes, I know I have a new favorite every week, there’s just SO MUCH good stuff out there!) - Dave Writes. In his post 20 Hour Work Week he makes a great case for flexibility in work hours and getting true work done in less than 40 hours. Here the line that made me fall in love:
“I think the dirty secret of most companies is that they know most workers are only working 10-15% of the time anyway.”
Now I’m off to read the post that inspired HIS post (and probably buy The 4-Hour Workweek) and then to read the rest of Dave Writes - he’s talking my language…………

Four Hour Work Week is pretty awesome, but Tim Ferris is also an extremist. I picked up a lot from the book, but there is a lot that I am not willing to sacrifice. Definitely worth the read, or listen (audio books are my friend).
Chad Hutchinss last blog post..A Week of Firsts
Kate - thanks for the link…it’s always nice discovering new blogs and other young entrepreneurs. Keep up the great writing!
To Chad’s point, you definitely have to take everything Tim discusses with a grain of salt. He goes to the absolute extreme end of everything he does. It’s great because it shows how far you can really push yourself, but most readers (myself included) will realistically only take bits and pieces of it to apply to their life. Now don’t get me wrong - the things I have done have had a profound impact on my productivity - but just know going in that it’s pretty infeasible to apply all of it.

Chad and Adam -
Thanks for the warning! I’ve been hearing about The 4 Hour Workweek for some time now and figured I’d might as well see what all the fuss is about. I usually don’t adopt anything like this 100%, but I’ll now know to take what I can use and leave the rest :-)
